Pupils in the school

St James's school was built on Salop Street, Dudley in 1842. It closed as a school in 1980 and was re-erected on the museum site in 1991.
The photograph of the teachers was taken inside St James's in 1912. It clearly shows the type of dress worn by professional women at this time.
The photograph of the pupils was also taken in 1912. Perhaps you can spot one of the pupils, Mary Higginson aged seven (end of fourth row in the right).
