One of the best loved characters ever to emerge from the Black Country. Billy Dainty was born in Dudley in 1927. He became a superb eccentric dancer and comedian, appearing in theatres throughout the U.K. and moving into television via "Sunday Night at the London Palladium". He died in 1986.
