Dorothy Wyndlow Pattison, 1832 - 1878, worked tirelessly to improve the health of the people of Walsall after moving to work in the town's Cottage Hospital in 1865. She was a pioneer of casualty nursing techniques but never gained the national recognition her achievements deserved.
